About the role
We’re looking for a Java Developer who enjoys building backend services that are clean, reliable and built to last. You’ll work on APIs and microservices that sit at the core of our client’s platforms, so quality and ownership matter here.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
- Break down features into well-structured microservices and work with the team on system design
- Write unit and integration tests and keep code coverage at a healthy level
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, write efficient queries and tune performance
- Integrate with third-party systems, message queues and internal services
- Take part in code reviews, sprint planning and production support when needed
What you’ll bring
- Solid hands-on experience with Java 11 or above and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security)
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or MySQL
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Comfortable with Agile ways of working and tools like Jira
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Clear written and spoken English, and comfortable working remotely with a distributed team
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Banking, fintech or government project experience in the GCC
