Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet Specialist) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across the Fortinet ecosystem and a proven track record in delivering secure, large-scale network infrastructures within UAE government environments.
This role will be critical in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade network and security solutions across on-premise and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network & Security Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage Fortinet Firewall (FortiGate) solutions for both perimeter and internal security.
- Configure and maintain Fortinet Core Switches, Access Switches, and FortiAP (Access Points).
- Implement secure network architectures including segmentation, routing, and SD-WAN.
- Deploy and manage Fortinet WAF (FortiWeb) for application security.
- Administer FortiAnalyzer for logging, monitoring, reporting, and audit compliance.
- Manage Load Balancer solutions ensuring high availability and optimal traffic distribution.
- Lead Fortinet firewall implementations and policy management on Microsoft Azure.
- Conduct periodic security assessments and optimize infrastructure continuously.
2. Cloud & Security Implementations
- Lead end-to-end Fortinet security deployments across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Integrate Fortinet solutions with Azure security services and cloud workloads.
- Ensure adherence to UAE government cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
3. Operations & Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and government stakeholders for seamless project delivery.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, network diagrams, and change management records.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Coordinate with vendors for escalations and advanced technical support.
Required Skills & Expertise
- 9–10+ years of experience in network and security engineering within UAE Government projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Fortinet Firewalls (FortiGate)
- Fortinet Switching & Wireless (Core, Access, FortiAP)
- Fortinet WAF (FortiWeb)
- FortiAnalyzer
- Fortinet deployments on Azure Cloud
- Load Balancers (Fortinet or third-party)
- End-to-end Fortinet security implementations
- Strong knowledge of:
- Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
- VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
- Zero Trust architecture and network segmentation
- High availability and redundancy design
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to perform in mission-critical, high-pressure environments
Preferred Certifications
- Fortinet NSE4 / NSE5 / NSE6 / NSE7 / NSE8
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Microsoft Azure Network Engineer or equivalent
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred)
